Our first campaign in South America features a selection of exceptional golf clubs and golf resorts located in (or adjacent to) some of the continent's greatest cities – including Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Montevideo. The campaign was formally launched in October 2019 when Nick Edmund, the Founder of Global Golf4 Cancer, visited Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
Each of the participating venues is invited to support the 'Founding Flag-Flyers of South America' campaign and to raise a Global Golf4 Cancer awareness flag on their 4th hole on each of the four special 'GG4C Awareness Days' (the 4th February – World Cancer Day, 4th April, 4th July and 4th October). Clubs are of course welcome to fly the flag on any additional occasions or events of their choosing.
Among the first South American clubs to support the campaign are the Rio Olympic Golf Course, Itanhanga, Gavea and Japeri in Brazil; The Jockey Club, Olivos, Buenos Aires GC and San Andres in Argentina; Los Leones, the Prince of Wales Country Club, the Club de Polo and Rocas de Santo Domingo in Chile, and the Club de Golf del Uruguay (Punta Carretas) in Montevideo.
